My now 14 year old is obsessed with Paris and just France is general. She dreams of going to France to see the Eiffel Tower and Disneyland Paris (hopefully one day that will happen!) But for now, what better place to celebrate her birthday than Chefs de France in EPCOT?
The birthday girl (and actually my husband too) had the lunch combo with Croque Monsieur and French onion soup. It looked delicious! The portions are extremely generous! The soup was enough for a meal in and of itself.
I had the vegetable lasagna. I have had this several times before and I always enjoy it. Just a warning, don't fill up on the delicious french baguette they bring before your meal because all of the portions we have encountered at this restaurant are very generous.
The prix-fixe menu also includes a dessert of your choice. I couldn't order a specialty cake for my daughter's birthday since this restaurant is serviced by an outside vendor (as are several other EPCOT restaurants) but luckily the desserts here are fabulous! Our favorite is the profiteroles au chocolat (puff choux with the vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce) but I am sure the other desserts would not disappoint!
I do believe you can order the standard birthday cakes if you are interested in those, but not specialty cakes. I am sure you could probably bring in a cake if you wanted. You could check with the cake hotline for more details on cakes available. We love the dessert above so my daughter was thrilled with it. They also sang to her when they brought it :) Check out the Chefs de France Menu here. My mom and dad were on this trip with us and everyone in our party of seven, including my 3 year old, enjoyed their food here! It wasn't France but it was certainly delicious and my daughter loved it. And that is all that counts ;)
Happy 14th Birthday to my first born! |
