5 Light Weight, Easy to Pack Items You Might Want to Take on Your Next Cruise

1) Zip-Lock  Baggies:
I love these for so many reasons! I usually like to bring about 5 of the gallon size baggies and then a handful of the sandwich size.  I just stick them all inside one on the gallon size baggies.  They don't weigh much and they are so helpful!  I pack these on all our trips even the short journeys.  They are also perfect in your backpack for a day in the parks!

~Got a wet swim suit you need to pack in your suitcase...… stick it in a baggie! (but don't forget to take it out as soon as you get home!)

~Have an open container of treats for your little one or yourself or several of the chocolates they leave for you at night.... stick it in the baggie!

~Have a ton of little memories from your cruise (animation drawings, kids crafts they make in the kid's club, etc. )….. stick it in a baggie!

You get the point!   They are super helpful!

2) Liquid Soap:
I like liquid soap because I just feel like it is cleaner.  Sometimes the bar soap doesn't get refreshed and it just seems yucky.  I do use the bar soap though!  What do I do with it?  I open it up and put it in with all our dirty clothes so that they don't smell as bad.  I think it is a little easier for kids to use liquid soap and I am all about getting those little hands clean!  The liquid soap is also a little easier to use if you need to get a little stain out or wash a small item.  Make sure you stick the soap in a baggie before you pack it though (you don't want your suitcase full of soap).

3) Straws:

This one might seem silly but I really like straws.  And they are NOT readily available on the cruise.  You can find them where you get specialty drinks and if you ask for them at dinner but they are not just sitting out for you to use.  I know this is a conservation effort and I appreciate it but it is a little less worrisome to give my son a cup with a straw than an open cup.  I would recommend bringing paper straws or a reusable straw if you have a love of straws or your little one does better with a straw! Just stick them in your day bag :)

4) Air Freshener:
This one is for the small bathroom in your cabin.  The stateroom hosts always do a wonderful job cleaning so don't worry about that!  The smell in the bathroom can just sometimes remind me of a motorhome bathroom or a portable bathroom. It's not constant but it is sometimes there.  If you just bring one of those small inexpensive air fresheners that you just roll up it will help tremendously!

5) Foldable Tote

This is for the last night of your cruise.  On Disney Cruises you can place all your bags in the hallway the night before with the luggage tags provided from your stateroom host.  This is very nice because you do not want to carry your suitcases around the boat the morning of departure particularly if you are planning on going to Cabanas (the buffet).  It tends to be really crowded and seating is hard to find the morning of departure.  If you are carrying all your luggage it will be even more difficult, especially if you have a lot of it.  So just put your bags out in the hallway to claim in the terminal and put pjs, makeup, etc in the foldable tote!  I really like the Vera Bradley one in this picture.  Another option is a duffel that expands.  We also received some great foldable duffels on one of our Adventures by Disney Tours that we love it!  I found a similar one on amazon that I will provide the link for here.

Bonus Item:
MAGNETS

Bring some cute magnets for your stateroom door!  It is so fun to decorate the outside of the stateroom, plus it makes it easy for your little ones or you to find your room!

~I hope these 5 light weight, easy to pack items make your cruise a little more enjoyable!
Happy Cruising!!~

Our Big Day Out With Thomas

We had such a fun time visiting with our friends from the Island of Sodor!  My 3 year old son is obsessed with Thomas and Friends, so it was a dream day for him!!  There were several activities to keep us busy before our big ride with Thomas.  There was a tent with Thomas mechandise (we spent a lot of time there), a magic show, a really small miniature golf section (perfect size for small children), story telling, a bounce house, a crane demonstration and other activites.   We were able to meet and take lots of pictures with Sir Topham Hatt (the line to meet him was rather long but moved quickly...there was neither confusion nor delay ;))     Like I said, we spent a lot of time in the merchandise tent.  They had some great stuff!  I was glad we stopped there first because we picked up the little engineer cap and my sweet baby wore it all day :)  We also got a Thomas whistle, PEZ dispenser, A Day Out with Thomas book collection (I taped our tickets inside

Disney's Polynesian Village Resort

Disney's Polynesian Village Resort is going to be wonderful when all the construction is over!  First off, my family and I are HUGE Disney fans!!! I LOVE Walt Disney World!  Whenever I feel like we need a little family time Disney is where I want to be :)  There is something for everyone.  We have a 13 year old, a 10 year old and a 3 year old.  With that age diversity Disney World is perfect for us. We stayed at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort in January in a club level garden view room.  The room was spacious for our party of five.  We got the garden view because we are hardly in the room while at Disney and the view was not that important on this trip for us.  On a side note, the club lounge offers a fabulous view through out the day!   The only drawback on the room itself was that there was not a full length mirror in the room.  But I guess that is fine, I really didn't want to see my tennis shoes anyway ;)  Here are a few other pictures of the room.

St. Regis Atlanta Visit in January 2016

The St. Regis Atlanta  was enjoyable from beginning to end.  I can't say enough about the staff as they were AMAZING!  We were celebrating my daughter's birthday during our one night stay at the  St. Regis Atlanta   and she was treated like a princess ;) On this hotel stay, we were traveling as a family of four since my eldest daughter was staying with a friend in the Atlanta area.  When we arrived at the hotel my son and daughter were greeted at check in with a cute stuffed bear wearing a St. Regis Atlanta t-shirt (my four year old son named his "I love Mommy" :) ).  I reserved the Superior Room   since I knew we wouldn't be using the balcony on this trip and we were only a party of four instead of our usual five. The layout of this room was really well done.  The room was very spacious and had every feature you need plus more!  When you walk into the room you enter into the foyer which has a table complete with a vanity chair, two closets, and a niche
