Our Big Day Out With Thomas

We had such a fun time visiting with our friends from the Island of Sodor!  My 3 year old son is obsessed with Thomas and Friends, so it was a dream day for him!!  There were several activities to keep us busy before our big ride with Thomas.  There was a tent with Thomas mechandise (we spent a lot of time there), a magic show, a really small miniature golf section (perfect size for small children), story telling, a bounce house, a crane demonstration and other activites.   We were able to meet and take lots of pictures with Sir Topham Hatt (the line to meet him was rather long but moved quickly...there was neither confusion nor delay ;))

Like I said, we spent a lot of time in the merchandise tent.  They had some great stuff!  I was glad we stopped there first because we picked up the little engineer cap and my sweet baby wore it all day :)  We also got a Thomas whistle, PEZ dispenser, A Day Out with Thomas book collection (I taped our tickets inside the book for a memory), and the 2015 Day Out with Thomas cargo car.  I did also purchase the bag for $3.99.  I was really glad that I did because we put all of our stuff that we gathered throughout the day in it (color pages, certificates for riding the train, prizes from the stamp map, water bottles, etc.)

They had several Track Master areas set up for the children to play with as well as a digital play area and a coloring area.  They even gave each child a set of color pages to take home. They also had photo props set up throughout the venue.

We had a great time collecting our stamps in all the areas and then returning our map for a great surprise!

Guess what?  It was finally our turn to ride with Thomas!  They had the inside of the passenger car decorated with Thomas decals and some favorite Thomas songs played in the background as we moved down the track.  It was so fun to see the excitement on my little boy's face!!

This was a day full of fun for a 3 year boy!  Exploring trains, standing on the back of a parked caboose, watching a crane demonstration, seeing a diesel engine pass us on the track, and my sweet boy even thinks he saw the scrap monster while we were there.   I am so pleased with his sisters too, although this is not their type of fun, they made it special for him.  If you have a little one who loves Thomas, you don't want to miss this event!  Find out more here: Day Out With Thomas.  I hope there is one near you :)

Disney's Polynesian Village Resort

Disney's Polynesian Village Resort is going to be wonderful when all the construction is over!  First off, my family and I are HUGE Disney fans!!! I LOVE Walt Disney World!  Whenever I feel like we need a little family time Disney is where I want to be :)  There is something for everyone.  We have a 13 year old, a 10 year old and a 3 year old.  With that age diversity Disney World is perfect for us. We stayed at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort in January in a club level garden view room.  The room was spacious for our party of five.  We got the garden view because we are hardly in the room while at Disney and the view was not that important on this trip for us.  On a side note, the club lounge offers a fabulous view through out the day!   The only drawback on the room itself was that there was not a full length mirror in the room.  But I guess that is fine, I really didn't want to see my tennis shoes anyway ;)  H...

Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort

We recently went on a long weekend trip to Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort.  It was so much fun!  We really only had two full days there but we tried to squeeze in all the activities we possibly could at this wonderful resort.  The resort itself is situated between a marina and marshland on the Broadcreek River and is a little over a mile from the beach.  But don't let that discourage you!  When you make it to the beach, there is the Disney Beach House with a lot of amenities, including a pool, located on the beach for resort guests.  Disney describes the resort as "a warm home-away-from-home—fashioned after a 1940’s hunting and fishing lodge."  We found it to be a relaxed, old fashioned family fun atmosphere.  The staff were friendly and courteous just as you expect and admire from Disney.  We loved it! ACTIVITIES Like I said before, there is a lot to do!  We really want to return one day to just relax and partake in some of t...
