Fairmont Waterfront Vancouver

Before our Cruise to Alaska on the Disney Wonder, we stayed two nights right across the street from the cruise terminal (Canada Place) at the Fairmont Waterfront.  This hotel and it's staff are phenomenal!  We stayed in a Fairmont Gold West Coast Suite which was nicely appointed and plenty spacious for our family.

The hotel even has it's own rooftop garden and beehives!  You can go on a tour of these (which we did) and even get a sample of the hotel's honey at the end of the tour.

Now about the Fairmont Gold:

They have food offerings throughout the day including a complete breakfast, afternoon snacks and evening offerings.  The lounge is spacious with indoor and outdoor seating.  The outdoor seating has beautiful views!! We enjoyed sitting outside watching the seaplanes take off and having a coffee.  The staff was VERY friendly and attentive.   They brought smiles to my son's face numerous times with the cookies, stickers and drinks they brought him.  They brought smiles to my face when I complemented on the chocolates they left in the room and then they brought me several more!  These chocolates are SO good!!  The one I had was a delicious locally made dark chocolate bar called rooftop grown lavender in honey toffee from Chocolate Arts.  I will be craving these forever!!

We were celebrating my husband's birthday while we were at the hotel so... I emailed the concierge a couple of weeks before our arrival about having a cake made.  The concierge got me in touch with the in room dining manager and I was able to order a cake.  They have several other amenities available, and I have to say they all looked very tempting!  I settled on a 6 inch cake and the Berry Berry Amenity.  These were a perfect way to boost our spirits after a missed flight and long layover on the way.  They did a great job with the cake, my husband was completely surprised and we thoroughly enjoyed devouring it ;)

Now like I said before, The Fairmont Waterfront is directly across the street from Canada Place (the cruise terminal for Disney Wonder).  I was so happy to hear about the luggage transfer service they have through their bell staff.  They collected our luggage from our room (I think it had to be done before 10 am) and they took it directly to the ship for us!  We did not see the luggage again until after we got to our cabin on the ship.  It was such a relief not to have to worry about that luggage because we had a lot of it!!!

This is the first time I have stayed at a Fairmont Hotel.  If they are all like the Fairmont Waterfront, I don't think you could ever go wrong with this hotel chain!  We really enjoyed this hotel and it's staff.  If I am ever in Vancouver again, I will be staying at the Fairmont Waterfront!

Kind memory from the hotel:  My ten year old daughter had a small place on her leg that she scratched during the night and caused it to bleed and consequently get a few drops on the sheets.  When we returned from breakfast to change into our walking shoes the housekeeping lady was servicing our room and kindly asked about it.  My daughter showed her the little scrape and we were off to our activity for the day.  When we returned to our room everything was clean and tidy and that sweet lady had left a couple of band aids on the table for our daughter.  This was so thoughtful!!  This is just one example of how courteous the staff at the Fairmont Waterfront was to us.

Our Big Day Out With Thomas

We had such a fun time visiting with our friends from the Island of Sodor!  My 3 year old son is obsessed with Thomas and Friends, so it was a dream day for him!!  There were several activities to keep us busy before our big ride with Thomas.  There was a tent with Thomas mechandise (we spent a lot of time there), a magic show, a really small miniature golf section (perfect size for small children), story telling, a bounce house, a crane demonstration and other activites.   We were able to meet and take lots of pictures with Sir Topham Hatt (the line to meet him was rather long but moved quickly...there was neither confusion nor delay ;))     Like I said, we spent a lot of time in the merchandise tent.  They had some great stuff!  I was glad we stopped there first because we picked up the little engineer cap and my sweet baby wore it all day :)  We also got a Thomas whistle, PEZ dispenser, A Day Out with Thomas book collection (I taped our tickets inside

Disney's Polynesian Village Resort

Disney's Polynesian Village Resort is going to be wonderful when all the construction is over!  First off, my family and I are HUGE Disney fans!!! I LOVE Walt Disney World!  Whenever I feel like we need a little family time Disney is where I want to be :)  There is something for everyone.  We have a 13 year old, a 10 year old and a 3 year old.  With that age diversity Disney World is perfect for us. We stayed at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort in January in a club level garden view room.  The room was spacious for our party of five.  We got the garden view because we are hardly in the room while at Disney and the view was not that important on this trip for us.  On a side note, the club lounge offers a fabulous view through out the day!   The only drawback on the room itself was that there was not a full length mirror in the room.  But I guess that is fine, I really didn't want to see my tennis shoes anyway ;)  Here are a few other pictures of the room.

St. Regis Atlanta Visit in January 2016

The St. Regis Atlanta  was enjoyable from beginning to end.  I can't say enough about the staff as they were AMAZING!  We were celebrating my daughter's birthday during our one night stay at the  St. Regis Atlanta   and she was treated like a princess ;) On this hotel stay, we were traveling as a family of four since my eldest daughter was staying with a friend in the Atlanta area.  When we arrived at the hotel my son and daughter were greeted at check in with a cute stuffed bear wearing a St. Regis Atlanta t-shirt (my four year old son named his "I love Mommy" :) ).  I reserved the Superior Room   since I knew we wouldn't be using the balcony on this trip and we were only a party of four instead of our usual five. The layout of this room was really well done.  The room was very spacious and had every feature you need plus more!  When you walk into the room you enter into the foyer which has a table complete with a vanity chair, two closets, and a niche
