Cinderella's Dining at Citricos

Getting dining reservations at Disney World is not easy!  So I was super excited to get reservations at Citricos with Cinderella and her Princess friends!!  We were celebrating a big birthday for my daughter (10) so it was even more special.  We started off with a bakery basket filled with turnovers, muffins and croissants.

For the entree, I had the grilled ham and biscuit.  This dish came with poached eggs but I substituted for potatoes because I am not an egg person.

My son had the Mickey waffles (a must do on any Disney visit).  Did you notice the cups?  They turn blue when they are cold and guess what?  You get to keep them :) What a fun keepsake, especially since this is a limited time location while the castle is being refurbished.

 And then.....there was the dessert:

The picture does not give the little blue topped cream puff justice .  It was a perfect match to Cinderella's dress.

Speaking of Cinderella, we met her as we walked into the restaurant and then Snow White, Ariel, Jasmine and Belle made their way around to our table. My son, who is 3, was not sure about the kisses Snow White bestowed upon him.  That was a memorable moment.  Oh, and the girls received wands and the boys swords to take home.  It was a fantastic brunch.  Our waiter, Nabil was wonderful! We had a little hiccup with a dessert I had ordered for my daughter for her birthday but he made everything perfectly seamless and my daughter did not even notice.  He even brought her a cupcake.

Then her slipper that I ordered arrived...

Now if you want to order one of these you can call the cake hotline (407) 827-2253.  It does require a 48 hour notice.  And I would recommend you verify your order when you check in at the restaurant.  For more information on the adorable chocolate slipper or other cakes, I like The Disney Food Blog.

I also ordered this small cake, which was delivered to our room at the Polynesian Village Resort.

It had a light inside the white chocolate castle which changed colors and it was a great surprise for our daughter to come back to the room at night and have this waiting for her.

We really enjoyed our meal at Citricos.  Although it was not the castle, the ambiance was still magnificent.

And now, I'm dreaming of a Disney Trip....

Our Big Day Out With Thomas

We had such a fun time visiting with our friends from the Island of Sodor!  My 3 year old son is obsessed with Thomas and Friends, so it was a dream day for him!!  There were several activities to keep us busy before our big ride with Thomas.  There was a tent with Thomas mechandise (we spent a lot of time there), a magic show, a really small miniature golf section (perfect size for small children), story telling, a bounce house, a crane demonstration and other activites.   We were able to meet and take lots of pictures with Sir Topham Hatt (the line to meet him was rather long but moved quickly...there was neither confusion nor delay ;))     Like I said, we spent a lot of time in the merchandise tent.  They had some great stuff!  I was glad we stopped there first because we picked up the little engineer cap and my sweet baby wore it all day :)  We also got a Thomas whistle, PEZ dispenser, A Day Out with Thomas ...

Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort

We recently went on a long weekend trip to Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort.  It was so much fun!  We really only had two full days there but we tried to squeeze in all the activities we possibly could at this wonderful resort.  The resort itself is situated between a marina and marshland on the Broadcreek River and is a little over a mile from the beach.  But don't let that discourage you!  When you make it to the beach, there is the Disney Beach House with a lot of amenities, including a pool, located on the beach for resort guests.  Disney describes the resort as "a warm home-away-from-home—fashioned after a 1940’s hunting and fishing lodge."  We found it to be a relaxed, old fashioned family fun atmosphere.  The staff were friendly and courteous just as you expect and admire from Disney.  We loved it! ACTIVITIES Like I said before, there is a lot to do!  We really want to return one day to just relax and partake in some of t...

FROZEN on the Disney Wonder to Alaska

Frozen seemed to be the theme for us on this Disney Cruise.  When I saw the  Frozen Stateroom Experience on the Disney Cruise Gifts and Amenities  page, I knew my kids would love it!  And they did!!  It was so cute!  It included a large Olaf door magnet, hanging snowflakes throughout the room, a picture frame, an adorable and quite warm throw (which we used a lot), and a small Olaf pillow. Next up on this amazing Frozen voyage to Alaska was the fun scavenger hunt called Anna's Chocolate Chase. Here's how it works:  One night you are given a paper with the details of how to play and where to record your answers.  Then for the next 3 nights you are given 3 clues in the Navigator to find Frozen themed objects throughout the ship.  Once you have found all the clues you are rewarded with something yummy! SPOILER ALERT!! PRIZE REVEALED!!!   There was a Maypole dance party with cou...
